The enSpire™ Interventional Discectomy System is a novel tool designed to cut, grind and aspirate disc tissue for lumbar discectomy procedures. With this needle-based procedure the physician may achieve results potentially similar to those achieved with surgical discectomy in contained herniated discs, yet with the minimal tissue disruption and scarring of a needle-based procedure.
Novel Tissue Removal
A unique, expandable spiral cutting wire is deployed through a needle. This rotating wire, along with auger, mechanically cuts and removes selected disc tissue. The quantity of tissue can be easily confirmed visually and may be sampled for pathology. The device is a disposable interventional tool requiring no capital equipment investment.
